The Center for Psychological Services and Development (CPSD) assists individuals and families in need of counseling and assessment with affordable services provided by professionals and graduate students in the mental health field. The CPSD is operated through the Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University.
The CPSD offers psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults to provide diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Clients seek assessment for a variety of issues, such as problems meeting the demands of school and/or work, difficulty concentrating, memory problems, or unexplained changes in daily functioning. Often, clients come with a specific question, such as “Do I have a learning disability?” or “Does my child have ADHD?”
Miller Analogies Test – As of September 1, 2021, we are not scheduling MAT tests.
Since 2009, the CPSD has partnered with the Chesterfield County Community Services Board (CSB) to provide diagnostic evaluations to consumers in their Intellectual Disabilities Service Coordination program. The evaluations are a required component in determining eligibility for services.
