Child Development Assessment and Therapies is an ABA provider in Fairfax VA, offering behavioral, educational, and developmental diagnostics and therapies. They conduct initial screenings on infants and school-aged children in various locations, including at home, in the clinic, or in a classroom.
Educational and Behavioral Services and Offerings
CDAT offers several assessments that can help you to understand where your child is in his or her development and some activities that are designed to enhance areas that may need strengthening. Initial Developmental Evaluation and Screening
This evaluation includes investigation of specific learning abilities and behaviors exhibited by your child and is completed through a play-based assessment approach for younger children and standardized testing for older children. After the evaluation, a follow-up visit will be scheduled where you will receive a full report summary and suggested activities.
Follow-up Educational Therapy Sessions
These one-hour in-office appointments build on the results of the Initial Developmental Evaluation and Screening and include activities and educational and behavioral progress monitoring.
Home Visits for Initial Evaluation
This one-hour evaluation includes the Initial Developmental Evaluation, but the visit is conducted in the familiar surroundings of your child’s home, where a natural environment can give insights into conditioned skills and behaviors.

This in-office visit offers you insights into how your child learns to help parents and other professionals help the child reach his or her potential. Included is a report summary and one follow-up visit to discuss findings.
School Observations
These one-hour school visitations offer you insight into your child’s classroom experience, including teacher and peer interactions, and assess behaviors of concern.
IQ Testing for Young Children (4-7 Years)
This comprehensive, in-office visit includes the testing, a full report, and one follow-up visit to discuss the report and findings.
Interventions for Developmental Disabilities
These one-hour sessions include interventions and resources available for services related to the disability and include a written summary.
