Lynchburgs first fully-accessible playground opened in the fall of 2012. Designed to provide recreation and family fun for children of all abilities, the playground was funded by donations from the Rotary Club and the City of Lynchburg. The playground features: Handicap accessible walkways and play equipment, two play structures- one, a large locomotive-themed play structure, and another sanctuary structure ideal for children who prefer a quieter place to play, a sensory wall and drum circle area with built-in instruments to please kids of all ages, benches, water fountains, and beautifully landscaped grounds with shrubs and flowers to attract butterflies and birds.
